HAIL THE VILLAIN Signs With ROADRUNNER RECORDS

October 28, 2009

Roadrunner Records has announced the signing of Canadian rock band HAIL THE VILLAIN. The group's debut album, "Population: Declining", will be released globally in March 2010 outside Canada.

With soothingly coarse vocals and infectious melodies, HAIL THE VILLAIN prove their worth on songs such as their first single, "Take Back The Fear", as well as others like "Social Graces", "My Reward" and "Runway".

Originally formed in 2003 under the name FARENHEIT, members Bryan Crouch, Joseph Stamp, Drew Dockrill and Chad Taylor drew eclectic audiences with their unique brand of rock. In early 2006, FARENHEIT officially became HAIL THE VILLAIN. Four stories of disappointment — an unsuccessful solo album, a dead-end job, an attempt at joining the army; and a promising career that fell flat — are what fueled the flames of inspiration for "Population: Declining".

"We used to talk about how great it would be to sign to Roadrunner during the pre-production days of the 'Population: Declining' album," bassist Chad Taylor said. "The talent on their roster is truly unique, and it’s an honour for us to be part of the family."

Roadrunner Records Senior VP, A&R Ron Burman says, "I am really thrilled about working with HAIL THE VILLAIN; they are perfect for Roadrunner. They are in-your-face heavy like the core acts on the label, but much more radio friendly with melodic and catchy songs, in the vein of DISTURBED and THREE DAYS GRACE. I saw them play and the singer Bryan BLEW me away with his captivating stage persona.”

HAIL THE VILLAIN are gearing up for a year filled with touring in support of their Roadrunner debut.
